NFL Alumni Indy Members and Friends,

Our year in review:
Beginning in January of 2007, a group of former NFL players decided to form a NFL Alumni Chapter here in Indianapolis, IN. I was voted in as president, Mark Catano, VP, Eric Moore, Secretary and Vaughn Broadnax. Since then, our  chapter has helped raise money to support numerous local children's charities here in our community. I am proud to announce that we have had a very successful year.

Our year started off with Christina Champins of Carmel, IN winning two Super Bowl Tickets, airfare and hotel accommodations to our first annual Super Bowl Raffle of 2007 valued at over $5,500 and we also awarded 2nd prize of $1,000 and 3rd prize of $500. Totaling $7,000.

We then had a successful golf tournament in May (many thanks to Tammy Tripp) and then throughout the year we had numerous appearances at local charities such as Riley Hospital and St V Craniofacial Hospital signing autographs and having our pictures made with the kids.
We have been blessed with raising thousands of dollars throughout the year and as you already know by now, our chapter has recently contributed funds to 6 local children charities. They are as follows:

  • JT Hand Foundation ($5,000)
  • St V Childrens Craniofacial Hospital ($2,000)
  • Kids Voice of Indiana ($2,000)
  • Chaucies Place ($2,000)
  • Helping Challenged Children ($2,000)
  • Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation ($2,000)
  • 2007 Total Contributions: $15,000

We have already sent each charity their check and are in the process of scheduling check presentations at all of the different locations.

We would like to invite you to our first check presentation this coming Monday. It will take place at:

St. Vincent Children's Craniofacial Hospital
10801 North Michigan Suite 240
Monday, January 21, 2008

(They would like us there between 3:30pm and 4pm  Please be there no later than 3:15pm for the check presentation and for the children's autograph session.)

We also just awarded the winners of the 2008 NFL Alumni Indy Chapter Super Bowl XLII Raffle. Tom Zupancic, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the World Champion Indianapolis Colts and Jay Souers, Vice President of Sponsorship Sales pulled the winning tickets this past Monday, January 15, 2008 at the Colts Complex. The winners are:

William Wilhelm of Carmel, IN (1st Prize: 2 Super Bowl tickets, round trip airfare & hotel accommodations)
Suzan Mustard Indianapolis, IN (2nd prize; $1,000)
John T. Keith Bloomington, IN (3rd Prize: $500)

We would also like to thank all of our former NFL members, volunteers and board members who worked with us to make our first year such a success. Especially Tammy Tripp for her leadership and commitment to making our inaugural golf tournament a great success.

We would also like to thank some of our sponsors: Bob Caruso of Bank of America, Robert Starliper; LandAmerica Title Company

Congratulations to them and to you for your continued support of our chapter. Please join us again this year and continue to make a difference in our community.
